Exercising on PTO
Bands to Make Her Dance
No hotel. No gym. No problem. There are three things I bring with me on almost ever vacation. Resistance bands, sliders, and my body. Never underestimate the power of your own bodyweight, a good set of exercise bands, and some sliders. Their are a multitude of workouts that will have your whole body burning without lifting a single weight. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) classes are great for vacation because they tend to focus more on spiking your heart rate to burn calories instead of heavy weight lifting. Exercise bands are also great ways to add resistance and build muscle in the absence of weights. They are also great for targeted muscle group work. I love to bring sliders to do ab and leg work like pikes and curtsy lunges. Most workouts do not require a lot of space and can be as long or as short as you want them to be.
Remember you are on Vacation
Always keep in mind that you are on a break. Take time to relax and enjoy yourself. Maybe do more yoga and pilates or short cardio or HIIT workouts. Set your workouts to align with your vacation mindset. Vacation can provide the opportunity for some much needed stretching and meditation to help your mind and body be more flexible. Vacation is a great time to reflect and reset. Take time to focus on breathing exercises and setting your intentions each day.
